How it is calculated
- Coins from each buy = amount spent ÷ price
- Average price = total spent ÷ total coins
- This is a weighted average, so it is not the simple average of the prices.
Worked example
Spend 100 at a price of 10, then 100 more at 20.
| You enter | |
|---|---|
| Buy 1: amount spent | 100 |
| Buy 1: price | 10 |
| Buy 2: amount spent | 100 |
| Buy 2: price | 20 |
| You get | |
| Average price | 13.33333333 |
| Coins held | 15 |
| Total spent | 200 |
You spent 200 for 15 coins, so your average buy price is 13.33333333. Above that price you are in profit, before fees.
