Bitcoin Mining Profitability Calculator

Estimate what a Bitcoin miner earns per day from its hashrate, the network difficulty and the block subsidy, and what is left after electricity and pool fees.

TH/s
Current difficulty from a block explorer, e.g. 100,000,000,000,000 (100 T)
BTC
3.125 BTC since the April 2024 halving
In the same currency as the electricity price (for example both in US dollars, or both in your local currency).
W
Same currency as the BTC price. Profit and costs are shown in that currency.
%
Profit per day
–
BTC mined per day
–
Revenue per day
–
Electricity per day
–
Profit per 30 days

How it is calculated

  • Average time to find a block = difficulty × 2³² ÷ hashrate (Bitcoin Wiki), so a share of the network earns hashrate ÷ (difficulty × 2³²) blocks per second
  • BTC per day = hashrate (H/s) × 86,400 × block subsidy ÷ (difficulty × 2³²) × (1 − pool fee)
  • Electricity per day = power (kW) × 24 × price per kWh; profit = BTC per day × BTC price − electricity

Worked example

A 200 TH/s, 3,500 W machine at a difficulty of 100 T, with power at 0.10 per kWh.

You enter
Hashrate200 TH/s
Network difficulty100,000,000,000,000
Block subsidy3.125 BTC
BTC price60,000
Power use3,500 W
Electricity price per kWh0.1
Pool fee0 %
You get
Profit per day-0.8563
BTC mined per day0.00012573 BTC
Revenue per day7.5437
Electricity per day8.4
Profit per 30 days-25.69

This miner can expect about 0.00012573 BTC a day, worth 7.5437, against 8.4 of electricity, so it loses about 0.8563 a day (25.69 over 30 days).

Questions

Why are transaction fees left out?

They change from block to block. Leaving them out gives a cautious figure; add your pool's average fee share to the subsidy if you want to include them.

What happens at the next halving?

The block subsidy halves, so BTC per day halves unless difficulty falls. Enter the new subsidy to see the effect.

Your numbers never leave your device: the calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent or stored.

An average expectation, not a promise: luck varies day to day, difficulty usually rises, and transaction fees, hardware cost, cooling and downtime are not included. This is not financial advice. Results are estimates for information only and are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Crypto prices move fast and leveraged trading can lose more than you expect.
